What is the Rear Occupant Alert?

Rear Occupant Alert is a system that gives you a reminder to check your backseat before you exit the Hyundai. This safety feature is applauded for providing drivers with a reminder that they may have precious cargo in their backseat such as pets or children. Hyundai will be making this feature standard in most vehicles across the lineup in 2022.

Rear Occupant Alert will present a visual alert on the dashboard display to remind the driver to check the backseat of the vehicle before leaving and locking it. If that alert is ignored and movement is sensed in the backseat after locking the vehicle, the vehicle alarm will go off, the horn will sound, and an alert will be sent to the driver’s Blue Link app if Blue Link is connected. This smart system has been implemented to help save lives and add extra peace of mind.
